The cannabis industry is growing as more and more states and countries legalize marijuana for medical and recreational use. There’s no better time than now to advertise your cannabis brand. But doing so can be tricky, as the extensive online ad services Facebook and Google have restrictions on selling cannabis since many states still criminalize it. So how can you successfully market your brand?

One popular way is to appeal to influencers. Both Greenentrepeneur.com and Shane Barker recommend using influencers to help advertise your cannabis brand, as it’s cheap and effective. People with popular Instagram or YouTube channels hold lots of sways, especially with young people like millennials and Gen Z, and will often advertise your product in exchange for free samples.

A growing number of marijuana-focused ad companies like Mantis, Traffic Roots, or RevOffers specialize in getting cannabis ads published. Facebook and Google might restrict cannabis-related ads, but there are plenty of 420 friendly websites that don’t, and these ad companies can get you on those sites.

It’s also essential to make your website or online store advertise your products yourself. Selling online is more challenging to do in the US than in Canada since not every state has legalized marijuana. However, it’s still possible if you’re careful and have legal permission and a license.

But while ad companies, websites, and influencers are all well and good, don’t underestimate the power of email. If you can get a customer’s email address, that’s worth more than a thousand likes on a YouTube video. Doing so will allow you to target customers with special deals and bundles, so if a customer trusts you enough to give you their email, use it.

Armed with these tips, you’re ready to start marketing your cannabis brand online!
